<Biometric Fingerprint Scanners for Time and Attendance>
MinitMan Biometric Fingerprint Scanner (380-10)
Overview
The MinitMan-FP 380-10 fingerprint timeclock is a cost-effective electronic timeclock using the employee’s fingerprint for identification thus preventing unauthorised (buddy) clocking. The timeclock can identify the user by fingerprint only or by ID code plus fingerprint.
Multiple fingerprints per employee can be learnt so that, in the event of an injury to one finger, access can still be gained by the use of other fingers. It is normal to enrol at least 2 fingerprints per employee.
The unit can store a maximum of 1500 fingerprint templates and 30,000 transaction records.
The 80 character LCD display shows the current Date & Time and indicates the employee’s success or failure when clocking. The display and keyboard are also used for all programming of the system parameters and enrolling of employee’s fingerprints.
The unit also incorporates a relay that operates every time a valid fingerprint is read. This relay has voltage free contacts and can be used to operate a door or other access control barrier. A single MinitMan-FP can be connected to a PC via RS-232 (max. 30 metres). Multiple units can be connected using either TCP/IP (maximum 255 units) or RS-485 (maximum 16 units). Note that RS-485 requires the use of a 311-50 RS-232/485 interface.
Simple PC software allows backing-up of fingerprint templates. The saved templates can be restored to the original unit and also uploaded to other units connected to the PC. The software is also used to download clocking records for processing in MP-Lite or TimeMaster time and attendance systems.
